3 halling?
Is 3 halling a valid strategy? I've found some good ways to pull it off, but I wonder if it's ever a better choice than 2 halling. Do you really need peons that fast, and if I could protect my 3 towns just as easily as I could protect 2 towns, would it be worth it given the extra cost of resources? _________________ i zero bagged your mother

Maybe in large team games like 3v3 or 4v4.

In large team games I don't think you would be able to pull off 3 hall. But I wouldnt even recommend it because if you get rushed that could be it, but of course you will have 2 other bases you will most likely get found and the game ends. _________________ Im a JoKeR not a SmOkEr!!

Old thread =/
But anyways, 3 halling isn't that ridiculous. I recently 3 halled in a bne/f game .. I know, bne/f blows ..and so do most of the players, but every1 in the game was actually not that bad. I started 4 and dualed 5 and 3. 2 farms and a rax @ 4. Smith and hall @ 5, and I didn't need anything @ 3. I was scouted pretty early, but threw up some d and repped my wallin. Needless to say, I kept all 3 bases and we won the game hands down with the res I pulled in. Although, I think my flyer rush over 9 might have done the trick.

in a 1on1 3halling is a joke... any half decent player will be able to beat it
in a 2on2 it can be better than a dual if you don't get scouted because they focus on your ally... but it's generally better to dual
in a 3on3 your allies will probably die before you can do anything with your 3hall so it's probably not a good idea
in a 4on4 you won't be able to...
and in a ffa it r0x0rs the h0use

Yes, in FFA I 3hall every game.
But if it definitely blows in 1v1 I won't try it there. If it could help in 2v2, maybe I will experiment with it some time. _________________ i zero bagged your mother

i like 3 halling, i got a pretty good 3 hall, i think i can do it just as fast as a dual but the defense isnt as good thats why its a bad idea to do it 1v1 (im like 1-44923849 with kanuks and the one time i beat him i 3 halled lol) but for 2v2s i think if u can do it good its a great strat _________________ Sucka poopy dick. ~ Osiris

3 halling is simple on BNE. In 4v4 just 3 hall max power those fags from 12 gg. By the trees at s12. Inside 12 and wall in 12 with a hall. If your enemy is at 2, you'll own him as long as they dont chop in and they dont team you.

?? Are you joking? Any good player @ 2 would just cat that shit, and rush the fuck out of 12. You can't be serious. There is no way you have enough res to stop a rush from 2. Or for that matter. There is no way that should work against good players.
