IRONMAN POSITIONS
could any nice iron player tell me all the fixed spots on all the maps. i know a couple but i would like to know them all. the fixed does make the iron gay but in a way its kinda fun. only thing i dont like is how lack of skill can still win you games with a better first 3 minutes of play.

Play 1 computer on each map, on fixed order. You wil be red (spot 1), the computer will be blue (spot 2).

IRONMAN POSITIONS
POSBNE: R3 and R4
HSCBNE: Bottom left and Bottom right
Forest Trails: 8:00 and center Isle
FOCBNE: Top left and Top right
MTC: Top left and bottom right
These are the only maps I remember off the top of my head. An easier way would be to count clockwise from your color until you reach the opponent's color:
Red
Blue
Teal
Purple
Black
Orange
White
Yellow
Meaning if you are Red @ 4 on gow and your enemy is Blue then count one spot clockwise and he will be 5.
Some iron man maps are not alaways red and blue. Such as MTC or Forest Trails.

Always red and blue. All the maps aren't built in order of color in a counter clock-wise fashion.
The only map that didnt seem to apply to the rule was Maze (top left, bottom right...but middle is red on maze), until I realized they had taken the middle starting spot out for the MAZEbne.pud.
MTC and Forest are both red and blue too.
But I'm killing a few minutes so I'll humour you Nedro.
Arctic circle - top left, bottom left
B2b - Top left, top mid
Foc - Top left, top right
Forest Trails - bot left, mid lower
Frog legs - bot mid, mid right
Gow - 4,5
Hsc - Bot left, bot right
mtc - top left, bot right
maze - top left, bot right
pos - r4,r3
skull isle - top left , top right (one of my wins I moved from top right to top mid)
4 corners - top left, top right
spiral - bot left, top left

axo... how does your strat change, if any, when you move on skull isle. I always complained about top right, cause the hall gets stuck of course. I think its a good idea to move, but do you have to play differently? (for low resources, iron man still)

If the enemy knows its coming then it blows.
If the map is not on fixed order then it blows.
If you use it to win games on a fixed position low resource, hacked ladder, then you should go find another hobby.

Darn right I play differnt. Either do a 1 farm, kill peon rush, or a 2 farm peon stop rush..something along those lines. You can't do much else. Grunts or peons will be coming your way very soon.
Another option...is to move to mid left. You could even get away with milling by moving there. Get a few guard towers and do whatever from there (probably get grunts).

The 'kill peon rush' is actually called TommyNg (if it's the same thing ur talking about).
Huk huk^^
Also.. colors for ironman are not always red/blue. Sometimes white/yellow and purple/black.

The kieu rush is sometimes referred to that name. I guess only people from the old days remember it. Loth also refers to the kill peon rush as 'TOMMYNG' ^^
Btw, me and ywfn did 2 iron man games last night. One of the maps was Frog Legs in which I was purple and he was black.

One more...
-Ya I know the old names, but other players won't, so I try not to use 'em.
-Purple and black the starting positions or were those your colors? Because ironman has always been fixed order, but random colors, which obviously doesnt help any.
If you were purple and black, were you top left and bottom left? I had frog legs 3 times during my ironman time, each of which were from the red and blue positions (but not the red and blue colors in the game necessarily).
