 The Tragically Hip:  Fiddler's Green
 tabbed by: Chris

Well, this is my first tab, so hopefully its not too bad. This song seems as if it
might be in a different tuning but Im not sure as to which tuning.  Having someone
play just strummed chords behind the picking parts would sound good. Enjoy. P.S. the
harmonics at the end of the bridge was a guessing game. The different tuning would
probably make it easier.  Listen to song for timing.

 | *Note: That first riff on the first line isn't right and I'm too lazy to fix it. You should slide into 6 then 4 on the
4th string
 then
3rd string
6p4-2 slide into 6 then Em. Or you can just find the proper riff later on in the tab |

The Tragically Hip - Wheat Kings
 Tabbed By: Mark Rumbles
 EMail: mrumbles@hotmail.com

Really easy song and a lot of fun to sing around a campfire!!

 Lead Guitar Intro:
 E-----------\--------------------------/-------------------------
 B-----------\--------------------------/-----3----5-3-3-5-3-----
 G--5-4-2-0--\-5-4-4-2-0-----0-2-0-----0/-5-4-----------------------
 D-----------\-----------0-2-------0-2--/-----------------------------
 A-----------\--------------------------/-------------------------
 E-----------\--------------------------/-------------------------

 -3--------------------------------------------------------------
 ---3-5-3-3-3-----3----------------------------------------------
 -------------5-4---5-5-4-2-0------------------------------------
 ----------------------------------------------------------------
 ----------------------------------------------------------------
 ----------------------------------------------------------------

The second guitar basically plays G and C through the whole intro.

 verse 1:
 G C G C
Sun down in the paris of the prairies
 G C G C
Wheat kings have all their treasures burried.
 G C G C
And all you hear are the rusty breezes
 G C G C
Pushing around the weather vane Jesus

 Verse 2:

In his Zippo lighter he sees the killer's face

Or maybe it's someone standing in a killer's place

20 years for nothing, well thats nothing knew...besides

No one's interested in something ya didn't do.

 Chorus:
 D G C
 Wheat Kings and pretty things.
 D G C
Let's just see what the morning brings

 Verse 3:

Theres a dream he dreams where the high school is dead and stark

It's a museum and we're all locked up in it after dark,

the walls are lined all yellow grey and sinister

hung with pictures of our parent's prime minister's

 Chorus:

Late breaking story on the CBC

A nation whispers "we always knew that he'd go free"

And ya can't be fond of living in the past.

Cuz if you are then there's no way that you're gonna last

 Chorus: repeat

 2nd time:
 D C
 Wheat kings and pretty things
 G C
 Oh that's what tomorrow brings

 Outro:

My best friend gave me the best advice

He said each day's a gift and not a given right
 (D) (A)
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind

And try to take the path less traveled by

That first step you take is the longest stride

 (A) (Bm)
If today was your last day

Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
