I've listened to some tool songs recently, and I don't get it. What is so good about them? They fall more into a soft rock genre, whereas I like hard rock. Sure they have some good beats in some songs, but the lyrics are ridiculous, and that guys voice... its really gay. Maybe I'm missing something, everyone says Tool owns.. Do they have some secret songs I never heard of? Or maybe I just downloaded all the crappy ones.

eh... they are... ok. Yes, some of their songs are soft, but some tracks on their AEnima CD are hard and really good. If you can get tracks 7 and 13, maybe they are a little more to your liking. KoRn's new style sucks.

haha, Korn fucking owns, they are absolutely one of the best rock bands out there, they just simply have talent, and the lead singer has a voice to go along with it. I'm not alone on this matter either. Korn wins awards all the time. They make top 10 on TRL also. I never heard of Tool until i see people bring them up in war2.

"They make top 10 on TRL also."

I hope you were being sarcastic when you used the words talent and TRL in the same paragraph.

Tool is good if you are into fisting and enemas I think. Their videos almost made MTV worth watching a few years ago.

Umm ~Summoner, I said KoRn's NEW style blows... their old stuff was awesome (KoRN and Life is Peachy) but their new stuff just is not up to par with their old. And rap sux, unless you like hearing stupid people talking to the same beat over and over.

Tool's drummer is simply the best modern day drummer to date. Summoner, you shouldn't have made that post. You show how really stupid you are by saying Korn has talent. I'm sorry, but there isn't really anything talented about Korn. Do you know why you haven't heard tool? Because you are on the bandwagon and you listen to sell-outs like Korn. Tool owns too much to even want to be on MTV.

Please remain silent on subjects you know nothing of, this also includes Warcraft 2, you stupid peice of shit.

Havent posted in a while and I won't bother replying to any assinine posts by idiots who think they know what they are talking about. Fact is, all the above bands blow ass. Listen to something with good style, lyrics, and people. Led Zeppelin or The Doors for rock, Bob Marley & The Wailers for reggae, country and rap dont deserve to be mentioned. all you wannabe rappers are trying to 'fit in' very unsucessfully. Shit like tool, britney spears, eminem, and any other trash is only top 10 on the charts because theres no good music to blow them away. I've listened to a lot of that junk, and it's loud, obnoxious, and has no quality at all.

Owned.

God people are stupid. One of Tool's biggest influences is Rush. Tool combines a lot of off-time beats which is what you really need to look for in talented music. Tool takes several years to release an albulm because they focus on the sound quality of their music. If you don't like Tool, that's fine; it's your opinion. But to say that are only loud and obnoxious is simply ridiculous. Also take into account that the singer/guitar player joined up with a female bass player and the drummer from the vandals and made another kick ass band (A Perfect Circle) shows how diverse they can be. Mocking Tool is just stupid and you should shut up if you don't know what you are talking about. And regaardless of the "Anti-Rap Bandwagon" beliefs, Rap takes talent, period. Don't even argue it. I don't like rap. I pretty much hate most of it. However, some of that shit, hell most of that shit, would be fucking HARD to do.

PS: Magik. Limp Bizkit is NOT going back to their old ways. My roomate downloaded the new limp bizkit CD a month or so ago from a friend and it is SO TERRIBLE. All it is is an electronica type fred durst voice with whiny lyrics. It's very very very sad. I think there was like 1 "scream" in the entire albulm. Very pathetic.

Tarquinn, we are entitled to our opinions. You are not a better "person" than me because I like Korn. I think they do have talent. Their latest CD was a huge success. And was for war2, I believe you did own me in the past, but you are nothing right now. I have surpassed your skill in this game leaving you in the dust as a washed up player.

Dude, it doesn't matter that he makes fun of the hosts or anything. The fact that he appears on MTV so much shows that he is endorsing MTV. Plus, do you think he's doing all this stuff for free? Somehow I doubt it =(

ghostnuke, my definition of selling out is....

Someone who gives in there roots (like Limp Bizkit) to make money from a more varied area.. Limp Bizkit went soft on their 2nd cd compared to 3 dollar bill yall, Eminem, if anything went more hardcore, and pissed alot of people off... the only things thats changed with eminem is he got a deeper voice...

Summoner just because Korn's last CD was successful doesn't mean it was good. You can look at the top ten best selling albums from anytime in the past year and you'll be lucky if two of them are any good.

Acid, Eminem being "hardcore" is the only reason he's popular at all these days. Before he made "fuck" every other word in his songs he was nothing. How many CD's did he sell of his first album? Like twelve? He saw that people would buy his first album because of it was so "hardcore", so he figured if he went to the next level more people would buy it. And sadly, he was right.
People say that he's so good just because he "speaks his mind". I speak my mind, where's my millions? Oh I guess I have to be a homophobic misogynist before I can be a multi-millionaire

Wow. Heheh heated debate. Eminem is cool so is limp Bizkit. I agree with Soth to extent, i mean Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin do own all. I find it hard to find decent music these days without turning to rap. Rock has gone right down the shitter. Korn? Gimme a break, as a guitar player i can tell you these fools dont know shit about music. Friggin Drop 'D' every song. (For non guitar players, drop 'D' is when you tune the heaviest string to 'D' making it easier to play and somewhat deeper. Very lame.) I used to love rock, i still do , but i dont listen to anything modern hardly. Mostly because its all pop-rock gayness, faggots like Goo Goo dolls and Blink 182 whining about their girlfriends and how they got dumped for having small cocks...i think. =P hehe anyways, listen to whatever music you like. But as long as rock is queer i am sticking to Rap. You guys should go download "Juicy" By Notorious B.I.G Its a classic, or "Hit 'em up" By 2pac.

Peace, love and Shake ya ass, watch yaself!

Well I think popular music in general has gone down the shitter in the past few years. There's still good music out, it's just harder to find.

"selling out" is a term people use to basically say they no longer like a band. Think about it, when you listen to a little known band and u like them, u wonder why the whole world doesn't feel the same way about the band and try to convince your friends to listen to the band. When ur band gets popular though, its almost as if it was ur own special sound and u go "well fuck u all, i liked them first." A band can not really sell out, because whatever they do, they are still expressing themselves in a way, even if it is "we are just doing this for the bills." maybe i am just rambling, or maybe summoner is just fucking gay, or hey, maybe it is both, but that is the way i feel.

Selling out refers to when a band did a certain style in the begining and then did something TOTALLY different and became more popular and thus continued that style. Many times the style is hated by the people who origanally liked the band (KoRn and Limp Bizkit being examples). I think that people get to stuck up on their on crap and won't see other people's points of view. A lot of bands will try different styles, and that does NOT mean they are selling out. Some do though, and that just sucks. They just do it for the money. That is why I like SlipKnot... they don't care what they look like or what people think about them, it is all about the music.

even if a band does sell out, that does not mean they suckm although i would think so, by taking on this new style to get a bigger audience, they can still produce great music.

You are all a fucking joke, rap and any other kind of music takes skill. To play a musical instrument, or to rap at 300wpm is so hard. You all just dont know how hard it is, because you cant do it, or you dont even try. I would love to see someone try and rap a song of Bizzy bones Cd. THE ENTIRE SONG. Or i would love someone to play the guitar like hendrix. If you could do those things, then you could be a star yourself. And IF a CD makes #1 on the charts, it obviously means they are GOOD. CDs dont make #1 because they look cool. I love rap and R&B, but i also love lots of other kinds of music. And even if a band like KORN gets #1, even though I hate them, i will respect the fact that they got #1 because they are good to some people. I dont judge music on how good they are just because of what I think of them. I will tell you I think it sucks, but in the long run, they dont suck, i just dont like them

I agree partially. Everyone in the music business has SOME talent, or they wouldn't be in the music business. But the fact remains some people just aren't as good as others. And a CD doesn't have to be good to be #1 on the charts. All it takes is for MTV to say "Hey, these guys are cool, and you should buy their CD", and all the sheep will run out and do just that. However, they still have to have some amount of talent, no matter how infintismal.

By the way, I think the record for fastest rapping is something like 250 words per minutes
