Secret Window
Saw it last night. I can say it was one of the best movies I've seen. Great acting by Johnny Depp and John Turturro. I think we have best actor and best supporting actor right here, go see it.

Or maybe you should stop taking film class because you know absolutely nothing about good films. Even hard critics are giving this movie good reviews.

It looked like a piece of shit in the previews (which rarely means anything) The critics didnt much care for it (which means even fucking less then the previews, given the fact most critics felt Titanic and Sense and Sensibility deserved their Oscars). However, I must say that Johnny Depp is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. I watched "From Hell" the other day, and while the movie wasnt too great, he was great in it. I am remissed to think of a recent movie where Depp wasnt at least far above average in his performance, except any movie where he wore scissors as hands. _________________ We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.

Every site I've checked it's gotten 4/5 stars. Definately better than anything else playing. I went to see Starsky and Hutch but it was sold out and opted for Secret Window.

Have you even seen the movie? Don't critique it if you haven't seen it. It seems like the type of movie you'd like, I dunno. I liked it that doesn't mean it's the best movie in the world. Stop getting so upset over nothing. It is a good movie imo.

I will also add that I think it would be better the 2nd time I saw it because there are things you can start to piece together after you figure some things out. I remember sitting there trying to make sense of alot of the movie and see if they screwed the story line up anywhere.
I also cannot believe Dawn of the Dead took the #1 spot at the Box Office. This movie looked so horrible. I'd rather have seen the TCM remake than this one.

I thought dawn of the dead was pretty entertaining. I enjoyed it more than the original, though it really didn't have much to do with it

made for tv adaptations of king are never even half as good as the novels just because of what they have to edit out
really good king adaptations:
the shining (kubrick version)
carrie (de palma version)
stand by me
misery
the green mile
the shawshank redemption
decent but not great king adaptations:
the dead zone
secret window
dolores claiborne
apt pupil
the stand
the langoliers
pet sematary
christine
the dark half
it
the shining (mini-series)
cujo
intolerably awful king adaptations:
silver bullet
maximum overdrive
the running man
the lawnmower man
the tommyknockers
needful things
dreamcatcher
notice that all the really good ones are rated R, king doesn't translate very well to a PG-13 movie

haha The Running Man was hilarious but I have to agree it wasn't that good of a movie. Dreamcatcher was a sad letdown I thought it'd be alot better than that, I loved the book.

Stand By Me is my fave movie.
Does anyone remember a movie with Wil Wheaton and Sean Astin where they were at a boarding school or something and it got taken over by terrorists? that was awesome back in the day!

Toy Soldiers, and yeah it was top 50 with a bullet. Good times.
As for the Stand, I agree that the TV movies are rarely that good, I was moreso impressed with the directors ability to condense a 1,200 page book into a movie, without losing TOO many details. _________________ We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.
