forum suggestion
Add a block/ignore feature. It would allow you to moderate whose flames you want to read in General Discussion and whose flames you don't want to read. I have no problem with most flame wars; however some posters, in my opinion, post things that have no redeeming quality at all whether it be for a flamewar or debate. I'm sure that goes for me as well; several of you would probably love to add me to your ignore list if you had one.
To be honest, I really can't think of a reason *not* to have this feature. It might encourage some posters to actively post the things in the other forum that they normally couldn't in this one.
EDIT: Another thing I forgot to add was that this really wasn't neccessary in the past, because most posters eventually got the clue to 'quit posting.'

Good idea. If phpBB offers that option though. I know Invision board and YaBB do...

Looking into it. It's a pain because it's a phpbb mod. Theres 2 of them that do it but I have to look into it more yet.

it would be great if i could block out certain people from reading what i write, and not seeing what they write, that will make this forum very differnt..

I thought blocking was a one way thing. You can choose who's posts you don't want to see, not who you don't want to see your posts.
