 How much are upgrades with the smith hack?

I saw Kith saying that leveling up is cheaper with the smith hack.

What are the costs of the upgrades with this hack?

 How much are upgrades with the smith hack?

The costs of 2nd level sword is the same as yer first level sword (so 500g 100w), and the same goes with 2nd level shield (300g 300w). So it cuts back kind of a lot eh? =/
