Still some content to import/create here and there (like sooper important player bios and less-important tutorials/guides and such) but all the really necessary stuff's in place.

I'd give you a critique of it, but currently it does not display for me. It loads and loads and loads, but it never finishes loading. I had to click stop, and then it showed at least the text that it had loaded. It's a shame that the network setup is causing such issues. It's probably 10x better than the crap that was up for the last ump-tine years.
Maybe the dev console will help ya out, I doubt it but here it is none the less. Notice all the "pending" items, those are items that never actually load.

Wargus is the war2 engine in opensource form. It uses the data files from War2 for things like sounds, unit images, etc, but the engine itself is completely re-coded and all open source. It's not an exact replica of War2, its actually closer to that or SC1 with rally points, selecting more than 9 units, unit queuing, etc. I dont like it much myself but it's actually not to bad if you like the SC1 engine.

Still having this problem? It's definitely a bit pokey especially on first load, but it should show up within 5-10 seconds. The host did kick it offline from about 3:30 - 5:45pm yesterday, but going by the system time in your screenshot, unless you live somewhere in Europe...

Ta! You mean an actual pvpgn tracker? e.g. http://track.pvpgn.org/ I haven't, it's a pvpgn setting, but it should be done.

I can, but I was hoping the giant green buttons would get the point across. :P Are the various link sections on the community page not visible for you? Should be one for fan sites, one for YouTube channels, and one for Twitch streams. I've added all that I could find but will gladly add any new ones people can suggest. Ditto for Twitch, if anyone streams on a fairly regular basis I could put a badge in the sidebar that shows when they're online.

A suggestion: Add comments to the newslines. It will give feedback from mostly newer players, which is really needed.. b/c they don't come on here.
Edit: NvM I see that is there now.
Isnt there a /mail system on War2.ru? Might wanna put something in the headline n the new users can post a review or something.. idk. Some insight into someone playing it for the first time, compared to most of us playing over a decade would be nice.
Edit #2.. instead of a banner showing newbie play, make one that shows chokes and good play? Just an idea. Maybe with player banter included.. they get a sense of online play right away.. yea most if negative, but half the shit is hilarious too.

Maybe mentioning somewhere noticable that the game/server is "FREE" to play on might entice people to download, who otherwise won't because they aren't sure if it is.

Been there done that, it was called War2.US. So it's not that it will never happen, its that it makes the most sense and thus the russian's wouldnt be capable of pulling that off. Thats more the correct answer than it will never happen because it has happened before

the new page has the 3 top stories flipping through up top right? i think the gow background on the festival story majorly clashes with the site layout

I can actually do this between site and forum, IF we end up migrating the forum to forum.war2.ru or similar. It might even be doable with all three, but think of how many different akas most people go through. It would really only make sense with a one account per person policy in effect.

I agree, it was the only large image of the gow map I could find. :< Suggestions for an alternate bg image?
