I'm fine with a sweeping generalization when it comes to cheating on someone because you should be mature enough to do one of two things before it ever gets to the point of cheating: a) talk about the problems and deal with them as normal people should, or b) break up and go fuck with whomever you want.
Anything else, cheating etc, is selfish, hurtful, and you don't deserve a second chance. Period.
Thought experiment:
You meet a girl who says one of two things:
A) Her past five relationships broke up because she cheated on the guys and got back together with them after for a little while
or
B) Her past five relationships ended because she fell in love with someone else and broke it off
What would you rather hear? I mean you guys want to jump down my throat asking bullshit questions so there's mine. It's quite obvious what any normal, sane, non-troll, would want to learn. But apparently if she could justify cheating then you'd be ok with it in certain instances?
It blows my mind that you can justify to yourself that in any instance, it's ok to cheat, and therefore that person should be forgiven.
As far as my 'paranoia' regarding my wife... keep popping those pills space. She read most of this thread up to this page and pretty much laughed at you guys. I guess she has enough self-esteem to realize that when someone cheats on you, you shouldn't take them back whatever the reason.

Or, maybe some people aren't meant for monogamy? Humans aren't naturally monogamous - for millions of years evolutionary forces have cultivated the human libido to the point where ours is arguably the most advanced sexual species on the planet.
Our ancestors evolved in small-scale, highly egalitarian foraging groups that shared almost everything. Anthropologists have demonstrated time and again that immediate-return hunter-gather societies are highly egalitarian. Compulsory sharing of partners was beneficial and pragmatic.
