Ahhh.... I thought it would moreso be from the perspective of psychological harm to viewers.
Of course porn is a misogynist industry that exploits women.
Anyway....other information in this is good... sociology has always been one of my passions. Took it from a minor to a double major back in undergrad.

ya it seems obvious but its amazing how many people who call themselves "feminists" or generally have progressive ideas about gender or whatever can justify all kinds of horrible shit under the assumption that everyone involved in the sex industry is a psychologically healthy nymphomaniac bourgeois adult

Ehhhh.... there is def potential for it... but to deem porn as "psychologically harmful" to viewers in general.... I'm not sure we can make that leap. I'd be interested in finding out though.
Either way human sexuality is highly oppressed the world over, and in many more serious ways than in viewing pornography
As a side note... for my senior study I shadowed female escorts in Chicago for almost a year. It was one of the most interesting, yet saddening things I've ever done :\

Actually I had a friend from high school who escorted so she got me connected with friends of hers...and I initially shadowed just her. I'll make a thread on this soon since you're all interested!!
