free name change
i read on blizzards site that when you use the free name change you keep all of your existing friends. but what about stats? do they reset or everything just continues as before but with a new name? j/w..

If you come up with a name you like better then your current, you change it to that.

I think changing your name also requires you to change your little 3 digit friend code.. I remember having to re-add some friends after doing this but that might have been the transition between the beta/regular game.. can't remember
