No one really started getting all that critical of Bush until a couple of years in to his presidency. Well after he was basically given a free pass on 9/11 to pretty much do whatever he wanted, and used that authority to lead us down a war of aggression and destroy the economy.
Also, after the noise machine got all upside down with Geitner, I did some research, and found that it was basically nothing to get worked up about. The errors he made were considered by the IRS to be very confusing and easy mistakes to make (the job he had made him pay twice for whatever reason), so there were no interest or penalties imposed. And that the mistake was missed by him, his accountants, and H&R Block for many years. Once it was discovered, he paid it immediately.
That basically tuned me off to the credibility of the whole idea that Obama is going around appointing a bunch of people trying to skip out on their taxes, and on to the idea that there's a bunch of butt hurt Republicans so willing to jump at at the chance that Obama isn't perfect that they'll believe anything you tell them. Although I'll admit I haven't had much of a chance to look in to the other two "issues" yet.
