The universe is so vast with so many inhabitible planets, so you would think (or at least I would) that if such technology is physically possible that at least ONE alien being would have it and know of our planet. At least I would. But I also don't believe aliens have ever contacted people on Earth. I'm not saying such technology is impossible of course, but it's probably pretty close to it, haha.
It's the same train of thought as you use when you say that time travelling is obviously impossible since no men from the future have visited us yet, I guess. But I think in that case it's more believable since time travel is absurd. _________________ Wartoo

actually i think the theories are similar. to be able to travel through time you'd need to be able to go faster than light theoretically. to be able to travel 20 light years in a reasonable period of time you'd need to come pretty damn close to the speed of light if not faster. if you could go 20 light years in 10 years (and obviously nobody knows this) but the idea is you would arrive there in the past.

i dont think a civilization that could travel through the vastness of space would interrupt the technological, social, or biological evolution of another planet.

Researchers detected the planet orbiting one of Earth's nearest stars, a cool red dwarf called Gliese 581, 20 light years away in the constellation of Libra.
wow, it's at one of the earth's nearest stars too
just 20 light years away
let's get going!
200 trillion kms, i think our spaceships can go about 120km/s, if we put a man in a rocket he'll be there in just 53,000 years _________________ i zero bagged your mother
