where did I go wrong here (replay included)

me and allstar vs scrubbo and pb

scrubbo killed me(12) from s6 and I'm not sure where I went wrong. I don't think i was too slow, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyhow, input appreciated.

You see, son, you were not the problem. Allying allstar is basically agreeing to a free loss.

Lmfao. I wasn't really watching you that game sabiq but you're res management was terrible. After you scouted SCrubbo's 5/s5 dual (You didn't scout 6) you continue rushing hard. You didn't get a lumber mill or cat or counterdual or anything. You simply kept rushing. What exactly were you planning on doing with that? Scrubbo had a cat moving between 5/s5 and towers going up.

You also didn't build a mill until after getting hold. You therefore obviously didn''t have the lumber to go fort. You weren't bringing in enough wood.

When I'm playing and I know that my opponent is going to beat me to fort I know I need to upgrade fast to catch up. Right when your hold is done you should be upping to fort almost immediatly. When your hold in that game was done you had 0 lumber. At that point I closed the replay and didn't watch the rest. There was no need. He had 3 halls and you had no lumber.

How can you not figure out how you lost that? .. Just watch your resource managment and that will explain.

You also need to have variety in your strategy. So you were rushing and you scout a dual. Don't keep rushing, adapt. Cat, counterdual, anything, if you can't change your gameplan in the middle of the game you're never going to win.

The general consensus is that instead of going straight for lust, instead I should have gotten cats and just ended it then and there. Is this correct?

And your scouting was horrible, your grunt was standing beside 5 for like a minute. You could have got into 5 way before he walled if you scouted properly.

I didnt watch the replay, but only by seeing the others answer its pretty easy to say what u did wrong.

1st. It looks like you realized that scrubbo dualed a lil too late. The key when u rush is to be able to know exactly what is your opponent doing at the time your 4th grunt is done. After this, you will have spent too much money on grunts to counter dual or cat effectively.

2nd. It must be an automatic, if not an instinctive move : when u see sum1 is at s6, build a mill RIGHT NOW. Hey, he is at s6, he chose the worst spot, you have nothing to lose building a mill. Build a mill, send 3-4 choppers so that they ends chopping right when ur mill is finished. After starting your mill, and if u dont have more than 4 grunts, u should have the ress to take an expand. Just do it, build scouting farms and then u power. S5 5 duals are so weak im pretty sure u could outpower it without having to counter dual.
