akron can you please explain to us what an "in-depth" castles games would be?
An in-depth gow game would involve different adptating/countering then battling for expansions (taking and securing) and many more shits that has made this map overplayed today. fair vs unfair spots etc
I think that castles require a LITTLE strategy but at the end of the day the fastest clicker wins .....

True, free doesn't have as much strategy as some other maps, but we don't play it for the strategy, we play it for the exhilaration and sheer fun of it.
Free strategies include:
Building formation/positioning
Towering/positioning
Mages/multimaging/invis peons
Tunneling
Peon rushing
Rushing
Deciding which buildings to attack (farms vs stables/rax, etc)
So it's not just mindless clicking, to be good at free you do need to know these things, and people who haven't played free vs. other high skill free players probably can't understand it.
I hope you guys can stop the flaming, it really accomplishes nothing.

just shut the fuck up apezilla. besides, i thought this was a moderated forum? and castles and other free maps takes skill, but skill is different than strategy. strategy is deeper, and skill is a more fast-paced affair. get banned apezilla.

Am i the only person here who thinks it is sad that there is more than a page of posts by people arguing over weather or not Castles is gay?
And to answer the original question, Everyone will always be arguing over weather Ogre Mage or Palladin or Mage or Death KNight is better, but what the question that they are really asking is which faction is better. And that is something that is never going to atop being asked an answered, and im sure there are a million reasons to use either side, but i like Ogre Magi (aka i like the Orc Horde).

Theres 2 things that descredit those 3000 wins : castles and west servers. Even jon- could have a winning record on these settings.

All of the BNE players on here might lose to you playing free castles. However it would be for about three games until they clocked exactly what to do and would then hand your ass to you again. However if you played 300 on any BNE map you would still get schooled by any decent player on here. Free, BGH, Jammin, and all that other stuff takes no time to learn. Couple of my newbie friends like playing Jammin' or whatever the fuck it's called and it took me 2 games to figure out the build order and then I was able to beat the "good players" who only play that map 2v1. BNE teaches you the basics in the game which you transfer to any setting or map. High res and free do not.

Joking aside, if you really believe you have the skills to back up your claims, this is the way to do it.
Regardless of whether or not this guy can actually deal out a lesson in Free Castles, this guy is certainly dealing out one hell of a lesson in backing your shit up.

Well I'll give him props he seems like a deent player shame he plays garbage instead of BNEs. I've played 5 games in the last month so I don't see me playing 50 of a map I don't like anytime soon.
